Flitch Coffee is a specialty coffee shop built on a simple idea: source the best beans, partner with people who care about what they make, and serve it all from one of Austin's most unlikely spaces.

The name

What is a flitch?

A flitch is a slab of wood cut from a log. It's a fitting name for a coffee shop set on the lot of Harvest Lumber Company, a working sawmill and lumber warehouse here in East Austin.

We are located at the corner of Holton and Tillery, sharing a lot with the lumber yard that gives this part of town its particular character. The trailer itself is a remodeled 1952 Spartan, a mid-century American aluminum travel trailer that found its second life as a specialty coffee operation.

Stop by and you'll find outdoor communal tables, shade, and a spot that feels like it belongs here. Dog and kid friendly. Open every day.

Our approach

We work with people who care.

We work with local and national roasters to bring a variety of coffees to our menu. You'll typically find offerings from Creature Coffee, Proud Mary Coffee Roasters, and Onyx Coffee, alongside teas and blends from Zhi Teas and Curcuma Kitchen.

The same thinking applies to food. Breakfast tacos come from Pueblo Viejo. Pastries arrive fresh daily from Sour Duck Bakery. Donuts from Andy K on weekends. We built this menu by looking around Austin for the people doing it best, then asking if they wanted to be here with us.

We collaborate with local bakers, retailers, vendors, and farms to bring quality products to our customers. That's the whole idea.

"This is a cute outdoor coffee patio that offers a variety of drinks from their menu. I order an iced maple latte with oat milk and was pleasantly surprised by the taste! I would order again. The darker drink in the picture was an iced mocha with delicious hint of cinnamon notes with a creamy chocolate aftertaste."

"Really nice coffee in a convenient location. They also usually have a food truck open beside them. The lattes are really tasty! This spot is a coffee truck set up in a parking lot, but they provide a good amount of covered and uncovered seating as well. The space is dog and children friendly. Complimentary water is available and the drinks come out quick. No complaints."
